The successful candidate for Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating pre-construction, engineering and other support activities to support organizational effectiveness and efficiency in commercial solar projects. The Project Manager is responsible for project tracking and invoicing, streamlining administrative and project execution procedures, helping maintain facilities and equipment, day-to-day accounting activities. This position will wear many hats in supporting the general goals and operations of KiloNewton. The primary role for the Project Manager is to ensure the projects are running smoothly from an administrative and operational standpoint, both hitting key milestones and accomplishing daily tasks on-time.

We are seeking an energetic tech-savvy professional who is experienced in handling a wide range of project, administrative team support related tasks, who is able to work independently with little or no supervision, is well organized, flexible and enjoys the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse people.


Project Manager Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Prepare RFPs, RFIs, correspondence, subcontractor hiring and filing systems, on-boarding.
  • Perform accounting tasks including preparing estimates, categorizing expenses, running reports, reviewing billable hours and expenses, compiling tax/reporting information, etc.
  • Working with IT and team to maintain website, office systems, software, and server equipment.
  • Purchase, order, and maintain travel itineraries, office supplies, and equipment.
  • Filling out and filing permit, tax and insurance forms, certifications, and paying fees.
  • Track projects and prepare quotes, purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and letters.
  • Help prepare/maintain gov’t paperwork, participate in local outreach and partnerships.
  • Ensure common area is clean, organized, and other office tasks as needed to maintain facilities.
  • Schedule meetings & meet with customers, vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate tasks and track technical requirements and deliverables with team, including client and subcontractors, to ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Perform basic reviews of technical documents for compliance with project requirements.


Project Manager Skills and Requirements

  • Advanced Proficiency with computers, internet applications and office software, including Microsoft Office & Project, Google Workspace, QuickBooks Online & Excel required.
  • 2+ year of proven success in managing projects/teams across multiple functions. 5+ preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field + relevant experience preferred.
  • Effective communication with both office and outside technical personnel.
  • Excellent writing skills and familiarity with websites and online social media.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Integrity and sound business ethics, including the protection of intellectual property.
  • Ability to interact with staff, clients, and contractors in professionally appropriate manner.
  • 2+ years experience with solar, renewable energy, and engineering fields highly desired.
