KiloNewton’s SiTE™ (Site & Technology Evaluation) Services for 5 Tracker Types

Problem

A Top 5 Developer retained KiloNewton to provide early-stage evaluation of five different tracker types—two straight trackers and two terrain following trackers, one of which had two equipment configurations—for a utility-scale solar project. Given the complexity of the terrain, the Developer wanted us to quantify in a short time frame the range of potential civil-structural cost so they could refine their project economics short list tracker manufacturers for their EPC bids.

Solution

KiloNewton provided a comprehensive Tracker Comparison Report that summarized our technical and financial analysis as well as the relative suitability of different trackers for the specific site terrain (significant east-west and north-south undulation). With these recommendations, the Developer was able to down-select the trackers under and evaluate RFP proposals with better information.
