SiTE™-Optimization vs CAD-Based Software

Problem

KiloNewton provided civil-structural EOR services for a Leading EPC for a local New Mexico project supporting a new data center. Following the completion of the project we wanted to demonstrate to our customer the value created by our civil-structural engineering services powered by proprietary software—SolarSpace®--and how it compares to other commercially available solar design software.

Solution

KiloNewton ran a PV array grading analysis using one of the leading solar design software offerings with the same data and assumptions that we had used for the project. Our SiTE™-Optimized designs are powered by proprietary software we’ve developed over the last seven years and are focused on optimized civil-structural design from early-stage site evaluation through construction. So we weren’t surprised that even on a fairly straightforward site the results were significantly different. With our PV array grading volumes negligible 98% lower than the volumes generated by the CAD-based software.
