KiloNewton’s SiTE™ (Site & Technology Evaluation) Services Levelizes Tracker RFP Bids

Problem

A leading utility-scale Developer for whom KiloNewton had previously provided SiTE™ Services to support tracker RFPs for both portfolios and individual projects asked us to help them evaluate competing tracker proposals received for a large project in Texas. They wanted us to identify the all-in-costs, to include grading & steel costs, to put the proposals on an apples-to-apples basis to support their negotiation and procurement process.

Solution

KiloNewton used SolarSpace®, our proprietary civil-structural design & optimization software, to provide SiTE™-Optimized grading & steel designs for three tracker types. We delivered a report that provided estimates/recommendations related to steel procurement and pricing, O&M costs, and optimization software cost/benefit as well as recommended leverage points for price negotiations.
